Volunteer at Christmas House

Christmas House offers parents from qualifying, low-income, Snohomish County families the opportunity to visit our "store" in December and select free gifts for their children age 0-18. In 2009 over 625 volunteers helped put smiles on the faces of over 10,985 children from 3,890 families.

Christmas House is a 100% volunteer organization. We need hundreds of volunteers to help us make Christmas House a success each year. Volunteers must be age 12 and older to help with move-in/move-out and age 16 and older to help when the "store" is open to shoppers. For every five volunteers age 12-18 that sign up as a group, there must be one adult volunteer. There is a maximum limit of 25 volunteers from any one group during "shopping" shifts."

The majority of volunteers help when the "store" is open during December, but opportunities arise throughout the year when volunteers are also needed. In December volunteers help us move boxes and merchandise, set up the store, assist shoppers as they select gifts, provide translation assistance, input data into computers, stock tables and racks, bag up selections and help shoppers to their vehicles. During the year volunteers help by holding fundraisers or new coat/toy drives, packing the gifts that are purchased all year into boxes at the storage facilities, knitting scarves and hats, etc.

If you would like to help with move-in, move-out or work a shift in December when the "store" is open, please check our Web site again in October to sign up. During December 2010, Christmas House will be held at the North Everett Boys & Girls Club, 2316-12th Street, Everett, WA. To help you plan ahead, the volunteer dates and times will be posted as soon as the 2010 schedule is determined. Check back around March.
